Hello mdailor,

Internet Explorer doesn't cope with ftp addresses very well. If you paste the link into Windows Explorer instead this should open the location successfully.

Hello mdailor

This isn't a known issue nor does it sound familiar to me so it’s hard to say what might be going on.

If the service was crashing, then the process would be wiped out.  Typically the 'stop pending' is seen if you try to manually stop the SMTPDA service and it's currently busy with requests.  It waits until those requests are completed then shuts down.

I would recommend you go ahead and all the current hotfixes for MailSite 9.5.4 and see if that helps the issue.

Instructions:

Use Windows Explorer to navigate to:

ftp://9.1:9.1@ftp.rockliffe.com


You'll see the 'ExpressPro9.5.4.18.zip' and 'Mailsite 9.5.4 Fixes.zip'. Copy those two zip files to a temp folder.

1) Extract zip files to a temp folder
2) Stop MailSite services and IIS
3) Within the MailSite\Webservices existing installation folder, rename the folders.  This will be present only if you run ExpressPro.  If not jump to 5)
4) Move the web.ui, service.airsync, service.wss and service.webcal folders that you extracted in the temp folder into MailSite\WebServices folder
5) For the other files extracted, rename the existing file under MailSite\ installation folder.  The renaming is not absolutely required, it's mainly to allow a way to roll back to the previous configuration.  Running the installer in repair mode would also allow you to roll back.
6) Copy the extracted files (from temp folder) into MailSite installation folder
7) Reset the permissions on the MailSite root folder (to ensure that permissions are consistent on the newly added files)
8) Start services and IIS


If the issue persists, then you will need to open a support case at http://www.mailsite.com/portal/cases/ so we can investigate further.  You will need a support contract in place to open a case.  You can contact your sales rep for more information or email sales@mailsite.com.

Hey all,
 
I am having a problem with the SMTP delivery agent service in MailSite Collaborator 9.5.4, it keeps stopping for no apparent reason. I'll notice that I'm not getting any mail delivered to my inbox, and when I open the Services window in the user interface, the status for smtpda is "Stop pending", and if I view it in the Windows Services app, the status is "Stopping...". None of the stop/start/pause/resume/restart options are available in either window, so I need to kill the process, smtpda -remove, and smtpda -install to restart it, after which it will run for some period of time (hours or days) and then stop again.
 
Can anyone point me to a fix for this or offer some advice? Thanks in advance.

I tried deleting the cache and then the Send button would not do anything (checked for web requests but nothing was posting in teh background). There was no address in the webmail address field. I added one there and now it seems to work, so I will leave it as is...

Hi vficorp,

We suggest that you try creating a new test mailbox on your server and within this create the personalities within the problem account. Do these one at a time and see if it causes the same problems when trying to send an email. It maybe that a specific personality is causing problems.

If after recreating all the personalities that you don't see the same problem you can try to delete the cache files for the problem user.

e.g

C:\Program Files\MailSite\SPOOL\temp\cache\

The full location for a user like test5@test.net would be

C:\Program Files\MailSite\SPOOL\temp\cache\t\e\s\t\5\@test.net\


If that doesn't help then take a look in the MailSite console at the mailbox properties and see if they have a value set for 'Webmail address' under the general tab. If they do try deleting this then attempt to send an email from ExpressPro again.

I could open a support case, but there is really a little more than I can provide.
 
We upgraded from the previous version. The installation package installed .NET 4 as part of its requirements and then the installation finished (and we rebooted). We had no issues with the multiple personalities, on the previous version.  They are actually more than 10, but only 2 were being used. The error happens regardless if you try to send from Default or from a personaility, and it also happens regardless when you compose New or reply, or forward.. We deleted a personaility and then added a new one, and the error still occurs.
 
Point of interest: Other accounts with less personalities worked..

I have been unable to recreate the issue you reported here in regards to the personalitiesfeature in ExpressPro.

To allow us to look further into this issue please can you open a Support Casevia our website with some further details or recreation steps.

i.e. Does it depend how many personalities you have set up? Does it matter ifyou are sending the message from the default or from another personality? etc

Hi vficorp,

Please can you try deleting the browser cache/temp files and cookies with one of these users and then test again.

There was a similar issue reported a while ago where deleting the cache helped.

Our users get the following error when clicking on reply, or forward:

'Neither object nor method can be null in L'

Using: Express Pro
Client: IE9 
 
IE 8 works...
 
Update:
Setting the ExpressPro site in the Trusted Zone resolved IE9 issue (but this is risky).
 
Mozilla: Has the same problem with IE9 (could not find fix there).
